We have gotten a lot of requests from clients wanting to purchase fabric for making handmade masks. Some of us are even making masks ourselves, and would like to extend some advice and products to help.
Products for making masks:
If you're making your own masks, we have gone through our inventory and selected 100% cotton fabrics that we believe are suitable for this use. Please remember that these fabrics were not intended to be used this way, however they are washable and 100% cotton, which is what most guidelines recommend for mask making. Find this special selection here under mask making fabrics.
Finished handmade masks for sale:
We are also happy to announce that one of our fabric manufacturers in Spain has used their facility to produce handmade masks at a low cost, and we'd like to extend that offer to you. They will be available within the next week. You can purchase those here. They are white, 100% polyester, and machine washable and bleach-able.
Helpful sources on hand making a mask:
We're making masks ourselves, and found that this tutorial is easy to follow and includes an easy option if you don't have elastic since there's a shortage of elastic in many craft stores. Find that here: https://www.madeeveryday.com/fabric-face-mask-free-pattern/
*We have no affiliation with madeeveryday.com but are happy to share her wonderful tutorial with you all.
We hope you found all of this helpful! If you have any other questions about mask making or anything else, please feel free to give us a call or email us at email@example.com. You can also message us on Facebook and Instagram.
*Disclaimer: We are only providing this as informational purposes and are not responsible for the quality of the masks you make. These fabrics and masks are not CDC or FDA approved for this use. We are not responsible for how the fabric and/or mask does or does not filter bacteria, nor do we make claims that it does or doesn't. This is all for informational purposes only, and suggest that proper use of a PPE like the N95 or other surgical mask is the very best way to avoid any bacteria or infection from any virus.
